Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st October of 2016, she released Pho which was her first EP released on the Dreamville Records label. The album was released when she gained her first recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, came out on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her release further music online including Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. Later in the season, the music was circulating through Dreamville. The 8th of December was the day she announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. The Album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist to J. Cole on his track Change in 2017. She also did a performance on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus alongside Bas as her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video was later released in September. On the 9th of November she released two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 two new singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single the 26th of February in 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby made an appearance with Cole for The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 for the track. Within one week, it was watched by more than 3,000,000 people. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
